Silver Maple tree flower buds

Silver maples (Acer saccharinum) are among the first trees in Wisconsin to flower in Spring. The buds will usually start to swell while it's still freezing at night. But, once I see them starting to grow, I know another long-awaited sign of spring is right around the corner. Soon we will hear the hum of flies and bees attracted to the trees.

Spring is marching along, and much is starting to grow in the gradually warmer days. I hope you can make a moment to wander outside and enjoy soaking in the wonders of the season!
