Pushing winter aside

Early Spring Crocus

Melting winter snows herald the new life of spring.

The gradually lengthening hours of daylight have been teasing our spring fever for at least a couple months now. And as the days get haltingly warmer, the all-too-slowly melting winter snows gently nourish and awaken the new life of spring underneath. The lawn starts to green; the buds begin to swell. Finally, the first flowers of spring burst forth; a shout of color awakens from the clean stillness of winter.
